Material exploration — this began with last semester's project. I find
that process (material-led) fits my preferences.

A completely new project though... it must differ from previous semesters,
or represent a development.

5, 8, 12 → exhibition (13), 4 days. Subject guide...
Drawings → outcome. Goal-oriented...

Casting — once off, or a series? And whether I want to explore the bodily
component of the work. In an amorphous way I find that interesting... but
it's not an anchor right now.

Then the idea I'd been brewing for a while: the shapes I see when I first
open my eyes in the morning and then close them. I don't know what the
phenomenon is called [phosphenes?]. For me it looks like a ring with
non-perfect edges that shifts in shape over time. Wanting to represent that
feeling is where this came up:

Laser cutter → perspex / acrylic — Makerspace.
Based in a way on Jaime Colín, but before that on the work of
  Caroline Christie-Coxon (Perth).
Corinna recommended Australian Laser Cut [?] for large materials.

Corinna also: 2D sculpture in wax — or using light through something to
sculpt.

Christie-Coxon uses synthetic polymer (fancy word for acrylic) on linen.
Corinna recommended:
Golden Heavy Body Acrylic + medium
  Try it with wax
  Flow / pouring medium (Liquitex)

"From memory" — I have no reference for the phenomenon. I have to observe
it with my eyes closed and draw, or represent, from memory. (A title,
maybe. A reflection. This is important.)

Matt (tech) suggested mediums to try:
Impasto medium + acrylic colour + enamel paint
  Bondcrete + water, 60:40 → 3 layers
  Rabbit skin glue
Odourless enamel... Rust Guard Advanced enamel [?]

And three artists I should explore:
• Antoni Tàpies
• Kazuo Shiraga
• Frank Auerbach
