EXHIBITION — external assessor.
So to recap, iterations... I need to figure out the joints... hosting a website is a good idea. Represent (maybe not as a book) but a portfolio — in a group critique, in an assessment, etc.
You can apply to curate a show. Due to limited funding → places lean towards big shows. Reputation — network is important.
You pay a commercial gallery for access to its network... it's a stupid game. Local council galleries — are they doing OK? I'd rather something different, but I'd donate to an institution... emerging curators.
Buxton — private. Mona (Tasmania) — private.
Is the point of art owning it? Probably not... probably exploring. Accessible model is cool. Do we need career artists? Definitely a craft, and exploring requires time and resources... even reflecting. Exploring vs marketing? What's the value of art? → movement / reflection.
Spot welder... soldering... glue... what's going to give? joint load-bearing.
Install 10th June... Thursday 11th June... studio between 25th May & 10th June.
Drawing / Digital / Collage — processing ideas.
Scribble in space — drawing has the same feel, can't tell them apart. "Innate understanding of the qualities of both." Freedom of movement. Lines with wire — drawing those lines. Feeling of touching the page, feel like wax (dense, smooth, clean, soft, matte). Making sculpture without making it.
Wax — colour without dipping. Plastic? Small ones? Modular ones? Experimenting. "Generative" time. NGV & draw on it.
